preaching SOUL.
Hey y'all~
Thanks for visiting my page! I'm making the big leap to full-time dance instructor.
Here's my official bio, something more exciting coming soon. :)
Inspired by playing the role of the Tin Man in “The Wiz” at the age of 12, Tor Campbell realized early on that dancing was his passion. Born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin he continued to dance throughout high school and starred in 42nd Street, a play that features tap dancing; this was ironic given Tor had never tapped a day in his life! Fortunately, tap came easy for Tor and he soon realized that dance was not only his passion but it also came naturally to him. After high school Tor continued to pursue dancing and choreography at Marymount Manhattan College in New York City where he starred in many musicals including Dreamgirls, Tap Dance Kid and Fame. Upon graduating, Tor went on tour with The Wiz in New York City but this time he did not play the Tin Man, he starred as “The Wiz” and was directed by the acclaimed George Faison (original choreographer of The Wiz). Most recently Tor returned from Macau, China where he was the lead choreographer for the Venetian Hotel. Tor has trained with some of the top choreographers in the industry including: Debbie Allen, Alvin Ailey, Mia Michaels, Wade Robinson and Shane Sparks. As a result of training with such a diverse range of choreographers, Tor is a versatile instructor who has created his own unique style combining many styles of dance including: funk, hip-hop and jazz. For Tor it’s all about high energy, connecting with his students getting a great workout and most of all having a good time! Tor has an innate ability to make students of all levels feel comfortable in his class; his energy is infectious and by the time you are through with class you are left wondering where the time went and how something so much fun could be such great workout! When Tor isn’t getting his groove on he works as an Assistant Physical Therapist and performs at special, private and community events.
